PLE Lower Saucer Aztec Pattern - 1
The cumbersome "AZTEC" patern on the hull. There are several ways to do this patern, I chose to use that wonderful blue masking tape because 1) the gum on the tape does not stick to and rip your paint off the model when you're finished, 2) It's easier to see your coverage when you're airbrushing with lighter colors. This is how I made the Aztec patern for the upper and lower saucer. First I copied and cut out a wedge of the pattern that was included with the kit. Then I had a left over piece of styrene which I then used as my compass.measuring the different horizontal points on the wedge I then marked off each of those points on the piece of styrene then drilled holes on all of those points. The holes have to be big enough to stick both a pencil and the tip of an exacto blade through to cut the blue masking tape.
